Dj’s & producers - M.I.A

Friday, February 29th, 2008

We used to have a list in the old 3 beat records shop on wood st, that basicly had old dj’s or porducers that were missing in action! we got everyone to add to it and it got quite long & every now and again someone from the list would pop up. I’ve been speaking to Steve Parry about resurecting the list, I’ve just picked up a record with Colin Dale’s name on & this has prompted me.

Here’s a few of the names that were on the M.I.A list (what i can remember)

Warlock - Fabi Paras - MK - Phil Kelsey

Ones we found.

Nipper - Christian woodyat - Jon Da Silva

We’ll keep you posted on any more names to go on either of the list’s. feel free to to add your own! T.T

Ceilo

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Me and Adam went to Ceilo in nyc on Monday night (deep space) to see Francois K. Really enjoyable night although there seemed to be alot of gay men there and not alot of nice young women for me, which Adam was obviously very pleased about but it didnt leave me much to work with. The club has a really old school New York disco feel about it, good night all in all.

Carol The Cleaner reviews..

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Carol the 3 Beat cleaner was listening to the new Lee Butler - Memory Lane Vol 3. She said it was head banging music.

She particularly didnt like the Original - I love You Baby, saying that it didn’t have any compasion or ‘oomph’. Carol said the lyrics weren’t good, and ‘I Love You Darling’ would have been better.

Shen then offerd us a peppermint.

Danny Howells & Lee Burridge 80’s set!

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

We spoke to 3 beat customer Danny Howells who was telling us about Miami, and he was telling us about his cheesy 80’s party night that he plays with Burridge. Apparently the cheesier the better, be it Kylie & Jason, Glenn Medieros or The Kids from Grange Hill! Oh dear… apparently Priince is far too cool to play, so anybody that plays that gets kicked off the decks! cheese tastic! haha

Well the following night sees Danny play 7 hours at his Dig Deeper night, where he returns to quality underground dance music that we all know and love the howeller for!

Circus on Saturday night…

Monday, February 25th, 2008

After DJ-ing on Saturday, I popped down to Yousef’s Circus night for the last hour or so, I saw Timo Maas who was playing some filthy tunage that he’d bought in 3 Beat ealier that day (see previous post!) , Ben Watt from Buzzin Fly who was keeping it deep and deadly with tunes like Julien Parise - A5B, and then i popped in to the main room to see Sebastian Leger who dropped his remix/remake of Knights of the Jaguar (which is superb!)
