Hugely talented British-Bajan R&B singer and songwriter Jodie Connor is another of 3 Beat's recent signings. An established artist, the Mancunian star started grabbing attention in 2010 when she co-wrote and provided vocals for "Good Times", Roll Deep's chart topping hit.
Further success followed with two releases under her ...
own name - "Now or Never" featuring Wiley which reached number 14 on the UK chart, and "Bring It" featuring Tinchy Stryder which climbed to number 37.
Jodie spent the next year shuttling between studios in L.A. and New York working with Roc Nation writers Makeba Riddick (who has penned hits for Beyonce and Rihanna) and James Fontalroy (creator of hits for Chris Brown and Leona Lewis) developing new material.
Snapped up by 3 Beat at the end of 2011, Jodie is all set to release her new single "Take You There". Already well supported by BBC 1Xtra, the track showcases Jodie's impressive vocals and infectious lyrics alongside a catchy riff and a rare feature from hip-hop superstar Busta Rhymes. With a sexy sun-drenched video shot in LA it's bound to be a red-hot summer smash.
