On Saturday we celebrated Pezz from 3 Beat Records 40th birthday (happy birthday baldy if you are reading this), and Greg Wilson the disco legend was DJ-ing, and dropping some damn fine underground disco classics.

I was speaking to Desa from the Bassheads at Pezz’s party, and he was telling me a story that greg Wilson was the first DJ ever to play on Uk television, on the legendary Tube no less!

Anway, Monday morning comes and I’m sent a new promo CD, mixed and compiled by Greg Wilson for 20:20 Vision (the fine label of Ralph Lawson), and part of the press pack was a link to Greg playing on the Tube…

On the way back from Germany on the plane, suffering with what turns out to be Sinusitis, he blew his nose, which hurt him a lot, which in turn made his eyes started bleeding, which caused the woman sitting next to him on the plane to think that there was a Chemical Warfare attack happening mid flight, and caused mass hysteria!

Thomas Tuft has invited me to play at a new night called Back To My Roots launching Easter Sunday @ Kingdom, a cool new bar in Liverpool – the emphasis of the night is to play the tunes that influenced me in to liking house music and the music that I play today.

i have not so long ago moved house, and so all of my records are in cardborad boxes! So that means trawling through nearly 20,000 tunes to find tunes for the night! (it will take me aaaaages!!)

I’m trying to find tracks that did actually influence me musically (rather than trying to be over cool pretending that I was in to early Talking Heads or obscure Depeche Mode or disco tunes that I like now, but I’d never heard of back in the day!!), and so I’ve been making a list, so far (amongst a bloomin long list that would probably bore you silly!) includes Kate Bush – Running Up That Hill, L’il Louis – French Kiss, Gwen Guthrie – Aint Nothin Going On But The Rent, and tunes from Sister Sledge, Pet Shop Boys, Tears For Fears…

Well on Fridays nights Essential Selection with 3 Beat customer Pete Tong on Radio 1, he gave a shout out to a party that was going on in Devon for a girls 18th birthday, which is a perfectly normal thing to do…

Well apparently 2000 teenagers turned up at the mansion, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage, and the parents blamed Pete Tong and Radio 1, even though Pete didn’t give the address of the party and the party was already advertised on the net and by posters in the local area.

Well we don’t agree that its Pete’s fault at all, and in a statement, the BBC defended the DJ’s actions, saying: “He would never knowingly give an identifiable address for a private party. ”

We can agree with Pete’s old jingle though ‘Pete Tong Got Power!’
