Pezz’s 40th birthday, chats with desa from bassheads, greg wilson on tele and 20:20 vision

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

yes I know thats a heck of a title ‘Pezz’s 40th birthday, chats with desa from bassheads and greg wilson on tele and 20:20 vision‘ for a blog, but it does all make sense.. I’ll explain..

On Saturday we celebrated Pezz from 3 Beat Records 40th birthday (happy birthday baldy if you are reading this), and Greg Wilson the disco legend was DJ-ing, and dropping some damn fine underground disco classics.

I was speaking to Desa from the Bassheads at Pezz’s party, and he was telling me a story that greg Wilson was the first DJ ever to play on Uk television, on the legendary Tube no less!

Anway, Monday morning comes and I’m sent a new promo CD, mixed and compiled by Greg Wilson for 20:20 Vision (the fine label of Ralph Lawson), and part of the press pack was a link to Greg playing on the Tube…

And so, you see, the worlds craziest blog title of ‘ Pezz’s 40th birthday, chats with desa from bassheads, greg wilson on tele and 20:20 vision’ does make sense after all…

Sander Kleinenberg new Pure Pacha resident

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

When Pete Tong announced that he was going to be ditching Ibiza Town’s glamourous Pacha club for San Antonio’s Eden there was huge speculation as to who would be named resident DJ of Pure Pacha.

For a number of years Pete Tong entertained crowds at the opulent venue under the Pure Pacha brand, and with Tong jumping ship there was a huge void that needed to be filled.

Step forward Sander Kleinenberg and his DVJ spectacle.

Quivver Dirty Nails and Vapour Trails 3 Beat

We’ve known John Graham (aka Quivver) at 3 Beat for about 12 years, as he as always been a loyal customer here.. and so we know that he’s been working on an album for pretty much that ammount of time too…. finishing on several occasions, and then deciding to change it…and then done it again.. and then changed his mind, well its finally done and dusted and about to hit the streets!

The album ‘Dirty Nails & Vapour Trails’ is coming on Quivvers own Boz Boz label and is coming some time in June. A 10 tracker with mostly previously unavailable stuff, then if you’ve ever liked this mans grooves, you will be needing this in your life!

With Sasha, Digweed, Seaman, Warren & Cattaneo the only 5 with this album, and all supporting, it looks like a real winner from the Coventry chappie who now lives in LA.

Guru Josh - Infinity 2008!

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

 guru josh infinity 3 beat

Rave griffin Guru Josh and his magical saxaphone return remixed for 2008, and its rather cool to boot! 3 Beat Records have just taken stock of this, and it made us giggle… should it have been left to depths of history or should it be back all freshened up, like he\s just been wiped down with a wet wipe by his mum?

Remix honours go to Klaas who add the typical current electro groove thats big Globally right now, and then Jerome Isma-ae who teases bits of the sax and then goes into a virtually sax free techie slammer of a mix!

2008? Time for the Guru?
