Liverpool Night Club and friends of 3 Beat Records ‘Cream’ wins award for ‘Best Club Of The Last 25 Years’ in Mixmag’s 25^th Anniversary Awards.

Coinciding with Dance music bible Mixmag’s 25^th Anniversary, Mixmag asked their readers to vote for their favourite Club, Tune, Dance Act and DJ of the last 25 years. Thousands of dance music fans, clubbers and music lovers voted in the poll and in one of the toughest polls of all, the mighty Cream was crowned ‘Best Club Of The Last 25 Years’ beating off competition from the likes of the Hacienda, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Gatecrasher and Godskitchen.

World famous DJ Carl Cox beat stiff competition from Fat Boy Slim, Sasha and Pete Tong to be crowned Best DJ of the past quarter of a century. French dance duo Daft Punk, came out on top in the Best Dance Act category,

Here is an interview with Sasha from movement magazine about Involver 2 which we’re all rather excited about in the shop. Quite an interesting read: ‘We caught up with Sasha this WMC during the Global Underground Involver2 party and asked him a few quick one’s about the new album. How is Involver2 going to be different from the last outing? This album is going to be a pure electronic album. The drums are pure 808s and 909s. It gets a four on the floor really quickly and stays there. The last album started off with a shimmery guitar record and went off into spanish guitars and ended up with Ulrich Schnauss at 140bpm. This record is much more leading and much more pure but really uplifting. You could say it’s more minimal but it is not a minimal record. Are you working with anyone new on this album. We’ve got Home Video, Apparat, Teflon Tel Aviv, M83, the track list is sick. How do you keep up with the change in sounds and managing to stay fresh? Well basically as a dj you play the best records that you have got at your disposal…and play what excites you the most and keeping playing and try to make best each set. What about as a producer are your techniques changing? All the time. I went out and bought about $2000 worth of guitar pedals and ever single sound I’ve got has been processed with a guitar pedal…To go through those is so much more statisfying then opening up a plugin and spending 5 hours with it. You have also been releasing tracks under your new label Emfire what been the driving force behind that? We have a lot of tracks that we finished we were thinking what should we do with these. Ten years ago we would have signed a record deal but there are no record labels anymore that want to sign deals so I figured why not just do my own. I don’t have an office its just downloads and a digital ep and it has a whole new track and feel to the releases of the track. Look for Involver2 release later this year.’

More Cirez D from the prydz boy in techno mode, and the 3 Beat lads are again excited about it!

‘Stockholm Marathon’ is a more straight up techno track from Eric than of recent, but with a sprinkle of his magic, and then ‘The Journey’ is a tough club track with crazy drum rolls and looped spoken vocal thats nuts and rocks!

With support from Dubfire, Axwell, Sasha and Fanciulli already – these again are set to be biggies!

Bedrock records releases a new track from Guy J, the talented Israeli producer and DJ called Under Pressure thats a bit of a favourite of ours in 3 Beat Records.

The original mix is a big throbber pounder that Digweed has been championing, plus if you’re in to the techier flavours of the world, check out the Error Error remix

There’s a hot new remix of Bedrock – Gridlock that has been causing a fuss with trainspotters, including us at 3 Beat. Its still a bit of a mystery who has remixed this monster, but here’s a clip of Digweed playing it at the weekend @ The Mansion for WMC in Miami. We’ll get on the case to find out who it is by and report back soon!

**** Hot New Info *** The remixer is Spanish producer Henry Saiz, who has several tracks on Digweeds Transitions 4 CD, and it will be forthcoming on Bedrock records very soon!

Does Eric Prydz ever sleep? Or does he just sit there locked in his room making anthems? 3 Beat Records staff are al amazed by how consistant this chap is – he’s had poppy hits under his Eric Prydz name, Pryda is his underground guise and the Cirez D is when he wears his techno hat – yet they are all outstanding… how des he do it?

Fabric Test is the latest one that we’ve heard, and its huge – check it out when Sasha and Digweed dropped in in Miami

Proving my trainspotter status is still as good as ever, i managed to piece together bits of information, and although I wasnt even at the Sasha gig at Circus, I manged to find out before anybody else that went what the ‘huge vocal tune’ was that he dropped in the middle of the night!

Its the new Sasha remix of the new Ladytron track, and it will appear first on Sasha’s Involver 2…
