Wonky Shonky?

Over the last few years, We at 3 Beat Records been watching a young French prodcuer called Shonky start doing well for himself. His new album Time Zero is a fine selction of underground slabs of all kinds of techno, ranging from detroit influenced melodic bits to lush breakdowns that you may hear in a Sasha set.

A new Remix 12″ is about to land too, with remixes from Paul Ritch and Mathias Kaden thats had plays from Dubfire, Troy Pierce and Loco Dice

Go Shonky

Smith & Selway – Total Departure – Cirez D Mix – ANTHEM!!!

We are still recovering here in 3 beat from mild heart failure after managing to get a promo of the new Smith & Selway track called Total Departure. The original is an amazing techno slammer in its own right, and then Cirez D remixes it to another level. The insane rising noise that builds and builds and builds as is the staple of the track as the groove of the main tune throbs along.

Its coming on Drumcode which is Adam Bayers label – he must be wetting his pants with excitement with these gems!

Already on the case loving this including Dubfire (his tune of WMC Miami), Richie Hawtin, Adam Bayer, Eric Prydz, Paco Osuna, Christian Smith and Chris Liebing… and now me too!

To top it all off the night before cocoon is the Sasha party at Nation. So that is going to be messy weekend for the 3beat gang!

King Unique – Sugar High – Remixed by Fanciulli and Boratto

 king unique 3 beat

The Classic King Unique track Sugar High that was a huge club smash a few years back, with all of the big DJ’s hammering it from all of the prog biggies like Sasha, Digweed, Howells to the housey and techno boys like Funk D’Void, Pete Heller and of course Lord Tong!

Its now back on King Uniques own label Curfew with one of the most anticipated remix packages that we’ve heard. Wonderkid Nic Fanciulli steps up first, and even though we haven’t heard the mix, I’m actually drooling at the prospect!

Gui Boratto lines up for the techno massive, and with the form he has been on lately, again drooling is at maximum drool setting for this one too!

And the Ku boys themselves have a go too!

We are excited – you should be too.

Josh Wink chart

Josh Wink 3 Beat

For many moons 3 Beat have loved the man with the acid lines that is Josh Wink and its nice to know that he’s still turning out some evil tunage, both on his own fine label Ovum and in the studio and in his DJ sets. So here’s his latest top 10 for your trainspotting requirements…

1 –  WiNK-Stay Out All night-Ovum
2 – D’julz- Just so you know (2000  &one )- Ovum
3 – Conforce- Junction(peak Mix)- RushHour LTD
4 –  The Mole-Baby You’re the One- Wagon Repair
5 – Tuomi- Expense of Spirit- Macro
6 – Urban Soul-Alright (Karizma RMX)- Juno
7 –  Jumper-Dubious (KiNK Rmx)-White
8 –  Blanket-Math- BR Records
9 –  HCCR-Mr.Dance- Bambossa
10 – Timmy Regisford- Dub for Downtown- DT161

This chart reflects Josh’s undergound Techno, old school house and acid roots lie deep and he’s certainly not a bandwagon jumper, so hats off to you Josh
