MOBO award winner and This Is New Africa ambassador Fuse ODG joined legendary newsman Jeremy Paxman on the set of BBC2’s Newsnight last night.
Fuse was there to talk to Jeremy about his mission to change people’s perception of Africa through his music. He explained to Jeremy that Afrobeats is showing a different side to Africa by showcasing the diverse music, new business and fashion that is flourishing across the continent.
Fuse played Newsnight out with his latest hit “Million Pound Girl”, but sadly Jeremy missed his chance to join in with a spot of Azonto-ing…

MOBO award winner Fuse ODG has just grabbed the Number 1 spot on Music Week’s Urban Club Chart with his irresistibly uplifting new single “Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)”.
The follow up to his smash singles “Azonto” and “Antenna” is a dancehall powered Afrobeats jam produced by by top Ghanaian producer KillBeatz.
“Million Pound Girl” is currently playlisted on BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and Capital Xtra as well as Manchester’s Unity Radio.

“Million Pound Girl” is out Dec 29th but you can grab it on preorder here. Remixes come courtesy of Steve Smart & Westfunk, Konshens and Rymez and there’s even a BONUS track – “Come Closer” – which features Wande Coal.
Fuse’s debut album is due for release in Spring 2014.

Massive congratulations to our very own Afrobeats star Fuse ODG on winning the MOBO award for Best African Act.
Fuse was up against some of Africa’s biggest stars in the category – the other nominees were Atumpan, Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid.
His blistering performance at the awards show, absolutely the best of the night, underlined just how much he deserved to win.
Ghanaian Fuse won the hearts of UK voters with his uplifting, positive and infectious blend of West African and hip-hop influences. His single “Antenna” shot to number 7 in the UK chart earlier this year and he’s currently teaching the world to “Azonto”.
In the most passionate, heartfelt and moving acceptance speech of the night, Fuse shared his vision of changing the Western perception of Africa through music – This is New Africa!
We’re couldn’t be more proud.

Afrobeats star Fuse ODG is nominated a massive SIX times in this year’s UK Urban Music Awards.
He’s up for Artist of the Year, Best African/Afrobeats Act and Best Male Artist, as well as being nominated for his smash single “Antenna” in the Best Collaboration (with Wyclef), Best Music Video and Best Single categories.

Fuse ODG filmed the video for his new single “Azonto” yesterday!
We headed down to Dalston in East London to check out the action and grab some behind-the-scenes shots….
“Azonto” is set for release in the UK on September 29th.

The SBTV stage was rammed for Fuse ODG’s performance – the whole tent erupted when he started playing “Antenna”. We spotted some pretty slick Azonto moves going down in the crowd too!

It looks like Fuse ODG, the man behind last year’s “Azonto” dance explosion in the UK has got the whole world jumping again – this time to his latest single “Antenna”.
It’s impossible to keep still to this infectious slice of Afrobeats and we’re not the only ones who feel that way! When Fuse launched the “Antenna” dance contest entries poured in from all over the UK, Europe and Africa.
The winning entry was from Manchester. Showcasing some breathtakingly brilliant dancing the video has racked up more than 2 million views on YouTube. Watch it here.
