Fuse ODG Wows Paxman On Newsnight

MOBO award winner and This Is New Africa ambassador Fuse ODG joined legendary newsman Jeremy Paxman on the set of BBC2’s Newsnight last night.

Fuse was there to talk to Jeremy about his mission to change people’s perception of Africa through his music. He explained to Jeremy that Afrobeats is showing a different side to Africa by showcasing the diverse music, new business and fashion that is flourishing across the continent.

Fuse played Newsnight out with his latest hit “Million Pound Girl”, but sadly Jeremy missed his chance to join in with a spot of Azonto-ing…

Stylo G’s Top Tracks of 2013

It’s been a bumper year for everyone’s favourite lyrical badman, Stylo G. He was nominated for a MOBO award and “Soundbwoy” his first single with 3 Beat reached number 18 on the UK chart. He totally smashed it on the festival circuit with massive performances at Glastonbury, Wireless, Reading and Leeds.

And with the brilliant new single “Move Back” due for release in March you can expect even bigger things of this man in 2014.

FUSE ODG’S “MILLION POUND GIRL” TOPS THE URBAN CLUB CHART

MOBO award winner Fuse ODG has just grabbed the Number 1 spot on Music Week’s Urban Club Chart with his irresistibly uplifting new single “Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)”.

The follow up to his smash singles “Azonto” and “Antenna” is a dancehall powered Afrobeats jam produced by by top Ghanaian producer KillBeatz.

“Million Pound Girl” is currently playlisted on BBC Radio 1,  1Xtra and Capital Xtra as well as Manchester’s Unity Radio.

Check out the video which features cameos from stars such as Sean Paul, Patrice Muamba and Eddi Kadi as well as 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth and Sarah Jane Crawford:

FUSE ODG BAGS THE MOBO FOR ‘BEST AFRICAN ACT’

Massive congratulations to our very own Afrobeats star Fuse ODG on winning the MOBO award for Best African Act.

Fuse was up against some of Africa’s biggest stars in the category – the other nominees were Atumpan, Ice Prince, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid.

His blistering performance at the awards show, absolutely the best of the night, underlined just how much he deserved to win.

Ghanaian Fuse won the hearts of UK voters with his uplifting, positive and infectious  blend of West African and hip-hop influences. His single “Antenna” shot to number 7 in the UK chart earlier this year and he’s currently teaching the world to “Azonto”.

In the most passionate, heartfelt and moving acceptance speech of the night, Fuse shared his vision of changing the Western perception of Africa through music – This is New Africa!

We’re couldn’t be more proud.

MORE ACCOLADES FOR FUSE ODG!

Afrobeats star Fuse ODG is nominated a massive SIX times in this year’s UK Urban Music Awards.

He’s up for Artist of the Year, Best African/Afrobeats Act and Best Male Artist, as well as being nominated for his smash single “Antenna” in the Best Collaboration (with Wyclef), Best Music Video and Best Single categories.

Fuse ODG Electrifies the Wireless Festival

IMG_0799It was sunshine and smiles all the way on Sunday when we headed down to London’s Yahoo Wireless Festival.

The SBTV stage was rammed for Fuse ODG’s performance – the whole tent erupted when he started playing  “Antenna”. We spotted some pretty slick Azonto moves going down in the crowd too!

IT’S FUUUSE!! “ANTENNA” STORMS TO NUMBER 5 IN THE MIDWEEK CHART

3Beat140 Fuse ODG - Antenna (Packshot)Fuse ODG has taken the UK official chart by storm with his summer smash “Antenna” – the track is a brand new entry at number 5 on the Official UK Midweek Chart.

Competition for the Top 5 spots is fierce this week – Passenger’s “Let Her Go” is also a strong contender. Daft Punk and Union J are hanging on at numbers 3 and 4. So if you want to see “Antenna” in the Top 5 download it here.

“Antenna” fever takes hold

It looks like Fuse ODG, the man behind last year’s “Azonto” dance explosion in the UK has got the whole world jumping again – this time to his latest single “Antenna”.

It’s impossible to keep still to this infectious slice of Afrobeats and we’re not the only ones who feel that way! When Fuse launched the “Antenna” dance contest entries poured in from all over the UK, Europe and Africa.

The winning entry was from Manchester. Showcasing some breathtakingly brilliant dancing the video has racked up more than 2 million views on YouTube.  Watch it here.

The runner up – from London – has had over a million, check it out here.

The official video, which features Fugees legend Wyclef Jean as well as the amazing dancers from the winning entries, has been watched more than a million times. Did you see it yet?

Other notable competition entries came from Kenya and Paris.

Now it looks like “Antenna” fever is set to strike down the international footballing community with the first case being reported in Norway…check out John Carew and his son throwing down their version of “Antenna” right here.
